Vintage 2023 was an overall cooler growing season with moderate rainfall and late budbreak. Proper canopy management coupled with the cooler climate resulted in red wines with great phenolic development and retention, yielding high concentration of color and tannin. Red wines from this vintage are robust and complex with great aging potential. For the white grape varietals, austere fruit expression and bright acidity are the defining characters of the vintage. 2023 will be remembered as one of the most exceptional vintages in recent years.

Tasting Notes

The 2023 Rose of Grenache opens with a bouquet of candied strawberry rhubarb and tart red cherry. The palate is light yet balanced, featuring nectarine, raspberry, and strawberry jam flavors with an energetic burst of fresh acidity. This wine pairs beautifully with shaved Parmesan, pomegranate and fennel salad or prosciutto wrapped melon.

The fruit for this wine was harvested from two of our Santa Ynez Valley vineyards: Rancho Las Hermanas, and Firestone estate. Comprised of 98% Grenache and 2% Grüner Veltliner, this stainless steel fermented and aged wine is bright and fresh, making it the perfect spring or summertime wine.
