The 2021 vintage was marked by a cooler and longer growing season, which provided fruit of wonderful concentration. The moderate weather throughout the year in the Sta. Rita Hills provided incredible fruit quality and balanced acid levels. Harvest was completed on October 23, 2021.

The 2021 Zoula Nunn Chardonnay is a rich, opulent wine. Aromas of caramelized sugar, and creme brulee with nuance of clover honey flowers lead to a full, round mouthfeel. On the palate, the wine is lush with confectionery viscosity, toasted vanilla bean, caramel, and honey comb. This is a rich style chardonnay that pairs beautifully with aged cheeses or savory coq au vin.

As part of the original Spanish Land Grant, Rancho Santa Rosa is one of Santa Barbara’s most historic properties. This beautiful south-facing hillside climbs from 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed and transferred to tank for primary fermentation using native yeasts. After fermentation the wine was transfered to French and American oak barrels (60% new) for 14 months of sur lie aging before blending and bottling.
